A NEWSLETTER FOR THE WESTRIDGE SCHOOL COMMUNITY

Principal's Message

Hello Westridge Students, Families, and Community Members,

Welcome to Week 11! Can you believe we have already completed the first quarter of the school year? Time flies when you're busy learning, growing, and being a Warrior!

The first quarter gave us opportunities to learn new things, build friendships, face challenges, and maybe even make a few mistakes along the way. And guess what? That's all part of growing!

Now we have a brand-new quarter ahead of us, which means a fresh opportunity to set goals, make improvements, and keep moving forward. New quarter. Fresh start. Let's make it count!

First Quarter Is in the Books!
The first quarter has officially wrapped up, and report cards will give families an opportunity to see how their students performed academically.

Students, whether you earned straight A's, improved in a challenging class, or didn't quite reach the goals you set for yourself, take a moment to reflect.

Ask yourself:
  • What am I most proud of from the first quarter?
  • What could I have done differently?
  • What is ONE thing I want to improve this quarter?

Remember, your first-quarter grades tell you how you performed, not what you are capable of achieving.

If you had a great quarter, don't get too comfortable! Keep working.
If you struggled, don't give up! Learn from it and make a plan.

The best part about a new quarter? You get another opportunity to show what you can do!

House Pride: The Competition Continues!
Our House System is bringing a whole new level of excitement to Westridge!

Whether you're representing Sparta, Athena, Leonidas, Centurion, Guerrero, or Valiente, remember that being part of a House means being part of something bigger than yourself.
And while everyone wants their House to win, remember that the real goal is to build a school community where students support one another, celebrate success, and take pride in their school.

Your House needs YOU!
Participate. Encourage others. Show kindness. Make good choices. And most importantly, have fun!

New Quarter, Better Habits!
Here's a question for our Warriors:
If you could change ONE habit from the first quarter, what would it be?
  • Maybe you were late to class more often than you should have been.
  • Maybe you waited until the last minute to complete assignments.
  • Maybe you spent a little too much time talking and not enough time working. 👀

Whatever it is, now is your opportunity to change it. We will continue tracking tardies and reinforcing our school expectations, but our goal isn't simply to remind students of the rules. We want our Warriors to develop habits that will help them succeed in school and beyond.
Be on time. Be prepared. Be respectful. Be ready to learn. Simple expectations. Big impact.

Kindness Is Always in Style
Middle school can be tough sometimes. Friendships change, disagreements happen, and not every day goes exactly as planned.
But here's something we can all control: how we treat other people.
Week 11 Challenge: Better Than Yesterday!
This week's challenge is simple.

Pick ONE thing you want to improve and work on it every day.
It doesn't have to be something huge.

  • Maybe it's turning in every assignment.
  • Maybe it's getting to class before the bell.
  • Maybe it's raising your hand and participating more.
  • Maybe it's being a better friend.

Whatever you choose, commit to it! Success isn't about being perfect. It's about being willing to learn, improve, and keep trying. You can't go back and change the first quarter, but you CAN decide how the second quarter will look!

Let's make this quarter even better than the last one.

Keep showing up. Keep working hard. Keep making your House proud.

Let's have an amazing Week 11, Warriors! 💙
Go Warriors!
