Hello Westridge Students, Families, and Community Members,
Welcome to Week 9! Can you believe we are already approaching the end of the first quarter?
At the beginning of the year, we talked about starting strong. Now it's time to talk about something just as important: FINISHING STRONG.
The next few weeks are an opportunity for every Warrior to look at where they are, decide where they want to be, and put in the work to get there.
Check Those Grades!
Students, when was the last time you checked your grades? If your answer is "I don't know"…today is a great day! 👀
Take a look at each of your classes. Are you missing assignments? Is there something you don't understand? Is there a class where you could improve your grade? Don't wait until the last few days of the quarter to start asking questions.
Talk to your teachers. Ask for help. Complete your work. Study. Use your class time wisely. Your teachers want to see you succeed—but you have to be an active part of that success!
You still have time, but the time to start is NOW.
- Attendance + Being on Time = Success
- Showing up matters.
- Being on time matters too.
We continue to track tardies, and we need our Warriors to make getting to every class on time a priority. When you miss the first few minutes of class, you may miss directions, important information, or the beginning of a lesson. Those minutes add up quickly.
This week's challenge:
Five days. Zero tardies. Beat the bell!
How Is Your House Doing?
Our House competition is growing, and we love seeing the House pride around campus!
Remember, House points aren't just about winning competitions. Your everyday choices are an opportunity to represent your House.
Show kindness. Participate. Help others. Make good choices. Show school spirit.
Your actions represent YOU, your HOUSE, and your SCHOOL.
So…which House is ready to step it up this week?
Dress Code Check
Warriors, you know the routine! Please continue following the Code of Student Conduct dress code every day. Doing a quick check before leaving home saves everyone time and keeps the focus where we want it—in the classroom and on learning.
Make Good Choices—Even When No One Is Watching
Middle school comes with a lot of choices. Sometimes the right choice is easy. Other times, it means walking away from an argument, staying out of someone else's drama, choosing not to post or share something online, or deciding that getting a laugh isn't worth the consequences that might follow.
Before making a choice, ask yourself:
Is this worth it?
One decision can turn a great day into a difficult one very quickly. Take a second. Think it through. And make a choice your future self won't have to explain.
