Westridge Warriors Weekly - Week of September 28, 2026

Hello Westridge Students, Families, and Community Members,

Welcome to Week 8! It is hard to believe how quickly the first quarter is moving. We have accomplished a lot in just a few short weeks, but we aren't finished yet!

This is the point in the quarter when the excitement of a new school year has settled, expectations are clear, and our daily choices really begin to matter.

Our message this week is simple:

📚 How Do Your Grades Look?

Progress reports have gone home, and now students should have a clear picture of where they stand academically.

If you're happy with your grades—great! Keep doing what you're doing.

If you aren't happy with them, don't get discouraged. Instead, ask yourself: What can I do differently starting today?

Check your grades regularly. Turn in missing assignments when allowed. Ask your teachers questions. Study before the test—not five minutes before it! 😄 And most importantly, use your time in class wisely.

There is still time to make progress, but don't wait until the last week of the quarter to decide your grades matter.

🌟 Your next choice can always be a better choice.

🏠 House Pride Is Growing!

Our Houses are officially underway, and we love seeing students beginning to show their 

Remember, being part of a House is about more than wearing a color. It is about belonging, participating, encouraging others, and contributing positively to our school community.

Keep looking for opportunities to represent your House and earn points!

And remember...a little friendly competition never hurt anyone. 👀🏆

🔔 The Bell Is Not a Suggestion!

Warriors, we are still tracking tardies.

By Week 8, everyone knows where their classes are and how long it takes to get there. Use your transition time wisely and make getting to class on time a priority.

Being late by "just a minute or two" may not seem like much, but those minutes add up.

Let's see how many Warriors can make it through the entire week with ZERO tardies!

👕 Dress Code: Do the Check Before You Leave

A quick reminder to continue following the Code of Student Conduct dress code each day.

Before leaving home, take a quick look and ask yourself:

If you have to think about it for too long...you may want to grab something else. 😄

Taking care of it at home means we don't have to take time away from your school day to address it.

🤝 The Little Things Matter

Sometimes we think making our school better requires doing something huge.

It doesn't.

Hold the door for someone. Pick up a piece of trash even if it isn't yours. Help a classmate. Thank a teacher. Invite someone to sit with you. Choose not to participate in drama. Give someone encouragement when they are having a rough day.

Those little choices add up.

🌟 Week 8 Challenge: Finish What You Started

Think back to the beginning of the school year.

Maybe you told yourself you were going to get better grades. Maybe you wanted to make new friends, join something, stay out of trouble, improve your attendance, or simply have a better year than last year.

You don't have to be perfect, and you don't have to change everything overnight.

Just keep moving forward.

💙 One assignment. One class. One day. One good choice at a time.

September 29 – PMA1

October 7 – Volleyball tryouts

October 8 - Fine Arts at the Summit, 6:30-8:00 PM (at Westridge)

October 13 – Start of Quarter 2

October 28 – Volleyball game Vs Walker AT Westridge, 5:00 PM

Our teachers have been hard at work preparing engaging lessons and activities. This week, we encourage students to actively participate in class discussions and seek help when needed. Please help us to encourage every student to participate in class. Remember, asking questions is a key part of the learning process!

We want to remind everyone about the importance of regular attendance. Being on time and present not only supports your academic success but also fosters a sense of community. Let’s strive for a strong start by making every school day count!

Car riders please make sure to follow the carline and not allow your student to walk through traffic. Safety needs to be our number one priority.

Students should not be on campus prior to 8:45 AM. If you need to drop off prior to 8:45 AM, please register your student for the YMCA Before School Program. Information can be found here. In addition, the first period begins at 9:30 AM.  

Volleyball tryouts are October 7.

Spirit Run is Feb 6.

Athletic paperwork and physicals must be completed and properly uploaded in Aktivate. Volleyball practices will be conducted every day for approximately 1.5 – 2 hours after dismissal time. Athletes are expected to attend all of the practices unless they have arranged with the coach otherwise. Athletes are required to have and maintain a 2.0 average and exhibit leadership and good behavior to be considered and remain on any Westridge sports team. If you have any further questions please feel free to contact the following:

Parents need to opt IN to clinic services. This means that unless you have completed the health forms we will not be able to assist your student in the clinic. Health forms can be completed digitally on Skyward Family Access or you can fill out the forms and turn them into the main office. Those forms can be found below.  

Please make sure all-important parent/guardian information is up-to-date in skyward.
