Hello Westridge Students, Families, and Community Members,
We made it to Week 5! The first few weeks were about learning schedules, meeting teachers, finding classrooms, and getting into a routine. Now that we have our feet under us, it is time to lock in and make every day count!
Math FAST Complete — ELA Is Up Next!
Our Math FAST PM1 testing has concluded, and we will now move into ELA FAST PM1.
Remember, PM1 is our starting point. We aren’t expecting students to know everything yet—that’s why we have an entire school year ahead of us! We simply want students to take their time, give their best effort, and show us what they know.
A few simple things can make a BIG difference on testing day:
😴 Get a good night’s sleep.
🥞 Eat breakfast.
⏰ Be at school ON TIME.
🧠 Take your time and do your best.
You’ve got this, Warriors!
📝 Progress Reports Are Coming!
Progress reports will be sent home September 17.
Students, you still have a little time to make a difference in that progress report grade! Check your classes and make sure your work is completed and turned in. If something is missing or you don’t understand an assignment, talk to your teacher and ask for help.
Don’t look back on September 17 and wish you had used the time you have right now.
Start strong. Stay strong. Finish stronger.
⏰ Beat the Bell!
Warriors, getting to school on time is important—and so is getting to every class on time.
Tardies are being tracked, so use your transition time wisely. Get where you need to go, take care of what you need to take care of, and be in class ready to learn when the bell rings.
Those few minutes matter. Missing the beginning of class means missing directions, instruction, and learning.
New goal: Beat the bell, every period, every day!
Dress Code Check!
Before heading out the door each morning, do a quick check: Is my outfit school appropriate and within the Code of Student Conduct?
Students are expected to follow the district dress code throughout the school day. Taking care of it before arriving at school means less time dealing with dress-code concerns and more time focused on what matters—learning, friends, activities, and having a great day!
Shout-Out to Our Soccer Team!
Our Warriors officially took the field for their first soccer game of the season! While the scoreboard didn’t fall our way this time, we are proud of our student-athletes for getting out there, competing, and representing our school.
Every season has a starting point, and one game is just that—a start.
Keep practicing, keep competing, and keep showing that Warrior pride! ⚽💙
Your Week 5 Challenge
By Week 5, the newness of the school year starts wearing off. This is when your habits begin to matter.
So here is my challenge to every Warrior this week:
- Get to class on time.
- Turn in your work.
- Follow expectations.
- Ask for help when you need it.
- Be kind.
And give your best—even when nobody is watching.
