A NEWSLETTER FOR THE WESTRIDGE SCHOOL COMMUNITY

Principal's Message

Hello, Westridge Families!

As we close out an exciting basketball season, we want to recognize our Girls Basketball team for an outstanding year. Their season has officially come to an end, but they fought hard, showed tremendous heart, and represented our school with pride. We are so proud of their effort, teamwork, and dedication throughout the season.

We have just four days left until Spring Break! Let’s make these final days count. Please ensure that all assignments are completed and submitted before we leave. When we return from Spring Break, all grades should be up to date and entered. We will have just nine weeks remaining in the school year, and every day will matter as we finish strong.

A special message to our eighth graders: this is your final stretch before heading to high school. Now is the time to stay focused, work hard, and make sure your scores and grades reflect your true potential. High school is right around the corner, and the habits you build now will carry with you into this next chapter.

Let’s continue to push ourselves to do our best each day. Success is built on consistent effort, positive choices, and believing in your ability to grow. Finish strong, stay focused, and remember—your future is created by what you do today.
Best Regards,

Nicole L. Jefferson

Please help us to encourage every student to participate in class. Remember, asking questions is a key part of the learning process!

A Few Reminders...

The Westridge Warriors logo features a fierce warrior in armor, ready for action.
OCPS will be implementing a 3-year reevaluation/review cycle for all Section 504 plans, effective starting with the 2025-2026 school year.

There will be specific exceptions to the 3-year review procedure:

  • Grade Progression: Transition meetings will still occur for students moving from 5th to 6th grade and 8th to 9th grade.
  • Senior Transition: 504 plans will be updated during a student's graduation year.
  • Parent Requests: We will continue to hold meetings within 30 days if a parent requests a review.
  • New Information: If new information is presented that impacts a student's 504 plan, a 3-year reevaluation/review will be conducted.
  • Plans that have Individual Health Care Plans and/or Related Services will be reviewed annually.

Please reach out to your school-based Section 504 contact with any questions you may have.
